Why You Should Book a Photographer for Your Honeymoon Too

Here is something I will share with all couples getting married... find yourself a wedding/lifestyle photographer wherever you are honeymooning, and book a mini-session! Your honeymoon is really that milestone in your wedding journey that closes the whole chapter of your wedding. Once the honeymoon is over, you go on with everyday life and your routines. So why not capture that particular time with you and your new spouse?

My husband and I decided to do just that while we were on our honeymoon in Hawaii. I found a wonderfully talented queer-identifying photographer in Maui. A simple Instagram hashtag search pointed me to her, and I am so glad it did. As soon as I saw her work, I was in awe. A quick inquiry on her website, and we were in business.

We booked our photoshoot early in the week just in case either of us got too much sun. I didn't want us to take photos on our last day and look like cooked lobsters! The mini-session was a really exciting activity to look forward to and even more fun when, weeks after we got home and got back into our routine, we suddenly got our gallery of photos.

I am thrilled to have these photos of us from our honeymoon to add to our wedding album. Now we can look back on images spanning from our engagement to our honeymoon and have a book that tells our wedding story.
